New York Minimum Wage 2022

New York Minimum Wage

Currently, the New York minimum wage for 2022 is $15.00 an hour for the majority of the state, with the rest of the state having a minimum wage of $13.20. Over the last five years, and enacted as part of the 2016-2017 New York state budget, the state had a plan to increase the minimum wage until it reached its target in 2022. The plan kept the needs of employees and employers in mind.

On December 31, 2016, the first wage increase took effect. For New York, the minimum wage differs based on the region of the state. These New York wages increased in each region until the minimum wage hit $15.00 in 2022.
